Scrap steel

Steel that has been previously manufactured and used, and which has then come to the endof its life in that form, can be infinitely recycled. As such, it is another important raw material in steelmaking. There are about 20 different grades of scrap that can make different types of new steel. Scrap is usually melted down inanelectric arc furnace (EAF), but can also be added to the mix in a basic oxygen furnace (BOF) tocontrol heat in that part of the steelmaking. Scrap stainless steel refers to stainless steel materials that have reached the end of their lifecycle or lost their functionality. Stainless steel is widely used in many industries due to its durability, corrosion resistance, and aesthetic appearance. Therefore, stainless steel materials hold significant value in recycling processes. Various types of scrap stainless steel exist, eachwith unique properties.

430 Stainless Steel

SS 430, is a simple, non-hardenable chromium stainless steel, with a chromiumcontent of 16- 18%. It has good corrosion resistance and formability but less than SS304. Typical applications are decoration, refrigerators, stoves, kitchen elements, screws, chimneys, scientific apparatus storage tanks, solar water heaters, kitchen utensils, tableware, washing machine parts, construction hardware, automobiles, etc.

Stainless Steel 201

Stainless steel 201, also known as 201 stainless steel (English 201 stainless steel). It is asteel grade of the Austentic group, mainly composed of chromium, nickel and manganese. It was developed in the 1950s due to a worldwide nickel shortage. Stainless steel 201 is a lower cost alternative to Cr-Ni stainless steels such as stainless steel 301 and stainless steel 304. Nickel is replaced with the addition of Manganese andNitrogen. Stainless steel 201 is essentially non-magnetic in the annealed condition andbecomes magnetic when cooled.

Inox 304 stainless steel (English: 304 stainless steel)

It is also known by another name of 18/8 stainless steel consisting of 18% chromium and 8% nickel. As the most commonly used Austenitic stainless steel in the world, it accounts for more than 50% of the total stainless steel production.
